House renovation
Last week we painted the walls, repeatedly. The living room will be a warm apricot, with red sponge decoration if that turns out to look good, and the kitchen a colder yellow. Then comes the turn of the library ceiling, which needs new hardboard and paint, and then the wallpaper, which will probably cause a number of temper tantrums going up. There isn't a straight angle in the house and we had to choose striped wallpaper.
The bathroom will be done by someone not us, for which we're grateful. There is some rewiring to be done - we objected to metal-encased cords - and then there's all the things one forgot about or which show up in the middle of things. I doubt I'll have any free time before Christmas...
