RAINFORESTS, WATERFALLS, AND ROCK POOLS, OH MY!

Feb 02, 2009 11:04

When I was a kid, my dad used to whisk me away on weekend trips to the mountains.  I'd get crazy early, we'd drive off into the sunrise, and I'd spend the day climbing rocks and hiking.  Those are some of the happiest memories I have of being with my Father.

I've always felt I was more of a city girl, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love the mountains and nature.  It's probably one of the main reasons I feel so at home in Los Angeles.  I get the best of both worlds...my city and my nature.

J. and I recently started a Resolution of mine which was to go on weekly hikes.  It took me a while to get it started because my schedule kept changing.  But last week was a good week and Friday found us exploring Coldwater Canyon - home of the Tree People.

We had such a great time.  J. surprised me by packing a picnic that was absolutely delicious.  And who knew little jalapeno slice in my chicken sandwich would be so amazingly delicious???  J. knew. :)

I got back from the hike invigorated and wanting more.  I looked up everywhere that we could go hiking in the LA area and was pleasantly surprised to find Rainforests, Waterfalls, and Rock Pools.  I'm overflowing with excitement for the next hike.  I think we'll go to Franklin Canyon for the next one...or maybe Malibu Creek.  :)

I've been updating my daily photos on Facebook.  You can see them by clicking here.
I absolutely love this photo project.  Already it's become a fun way to archive the last month.

I started the Master Cleanse today.  I feel I'm actually ready for it this time and in a state of mind to commit to it.  I had a bit of a rough start this morning. I ended up vomitting the salt water..but we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Back to work.  And tonight, D. and I are off to the Genghis Cohen to a BMI sponsored night.  We're hoping to get me booked for their showcase in April.  It's a big industry night, so cross your fingers!
