We had a pretty low-key New Year's Eve which is just the way I like it. I had a few days off so J. and I decided to take advantage of it and re-arrange the apartment...FINALLY!!! We worked on the living room all day yesterday with the I Love Lucy marathon in the background. Then we made dinner, and watched our DVR'd Twilight Zone New Year's marathon episodes. Then, at 10 till midnight, we put on Dick Clark...30 seconds later we switched over to Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin because Dick Clark was just too depressing to watch. Plus...I absolutely love Anderson and Kathy together.
We watched the ball drop in Times Square 3 hours later (as a native Angeleno, I'm quite accustomed to the re-broadcasts). Then we basked in the fact that we rang in the new year together. I'm so happy to start off on such a positive and lovely foot.
This morning I introduced J. to my favorite New Year's day tradition: Colombian Breakfast and The Rose Parade. I love watching the Rose Parade..or actualy...I love watching a few minutes of the rose parade, and then checking in every few hours. God bless KTLA for airing it all day. And...God bless KTLA for finally getting it together and bringing back Stephanie Edwards. It felt like home again with her and Bob Eubanks being oh so folksy.
Right now, we're off to our cat-sitting duties and then to Whole Foods. Then we're re-arranging the bedroom. I can't wait!! Our apartment finally feels like a home!!!!
Also...tonight I'm starting a daily project that I'll write about later. :)
Happy New Year, kids!!! Let's hope it's a good one without any fear...
