Okay...this is gonna be one of those "a little bit everything" posts.
WORK - Yesterday was my 2nd day at work. I'm seriously loving this job. The people are genuinely nice and mature, which is such a refreshing turn from what I'm used to being surrounded by in work environments. There's a definite general case of humility and character appreciation going around there that makes me feel okay being me without resorting to my usual defensiveness. Yesterday, we did some Tea Tastings and guess what? I still find Earl Grey to be as dispicable as ever...except when it's iced. Don't ask me why, but the kids over at the Bourgeois Pig got it right with that one. That crazy minty cradle it sits in just rubs me the wrong way when it's hot, but when it's cold it's oh so refreshingly delicious. Ooh..and E. will appreciate this: Peet's steams its milk at 155 degrees. Cuz, seriously - who wants to scald their tongues when they order a latte? Certainly, not me. So it's nice to know if I ever order a bar drink at Peet's, I can leave one item off of my rambling list of usual modifications.
PINKBERRY - I don't understand people's obsession with Pinkberry. I'm such a hater when it comes to mass popularism. It turns me off and makes me want to crawl up next to a wall and find the awesomeness in the cracks. In fact, that's what kept me away from Harry Potter for so frakkin long. Too bad the books are so well written...But, I digress. Everything I read about Pinkberry's overpriced designer frozen "it's yogurt, but it's not, okay there's a little yogurt, but not really" just screams "RETARDO!!!". People...if you want frozen yogurt, head on over to your neighborhood indoor swap meet. The one I used to go to as a kid had a great FroYo booth that offered $1.50 cups with all the toppings you could ever want without the presence of annoying hipster wannabe 20-year-olds yapping on their pink jewel encrusted cellphones.
TELEVISION - Deadwood Season 3 just hit my netflix queue, cocksuckers! I'm totally excited about this. Also, I just finished the 2nd season of Battlestar GAYlactica and let me tell you - this show is abso-frakkin-lutely amazing. So well written and at times, beyond exhilirating. I can't wait till Season 3 is on DVD. I've started The Shield Season 2 and am getting seriously hooked. E. and I just finished the first disc of Entourage Season 3 Part 1 and are officially over the fat friend from New York, Dom. Seriously, he needs to get the fuck off the show before the next episode or else heads will roll.
SHOO FLY - Okay...I don't know what the frak is going on in my house, but all of a sudden we have been graced by the presence of house flies. It's not "poop" bad...but it's more than I'm okay with. Like, right now there are 4 houseflies on my window...3 of which are crawling on my window screen in between the sliding window and the outside window. Now there's 5!! Where are they coming from and how the hell did they get in my house?!?!? The good thing is they're staying far from me, they only stay by the window and one of them likes to watch television at night...but still...I don't want them in my room!! Shoo fly, SHOO!
JUSTIFIABLY AFRAID - Did any of you guys see
this article on CNN.com today?!?! Oh my frakkin god!!! So, basically, this 13 year old girl at a Six Flags in Kentuck went on Superman the Ride which is considered a "Drop Ride" with the passenger's strapped in but their hands and legs free to the wind. Anyway, as the car made it's ascent, a cord broke free and wrapped itself around this girl's feet and when the drop happened, her feet were completely amputated!!!! Good fucking Lord!!!! Read the article for more details including eyewitness accounts. This just adds one more reason to fear "drop rides" in my book. No bueno, indeed dude.
THE BLACK CROWES - I have entered into a new current obsession. Today, I was listening to my music library on random when out of the blue Cursed Diamond by The Black Crowes came on. I was flooded by the overwhelming desire to saturate myself in this band. I've always loved them, but I feel as if I've come to ignore them the last few years, despite seeing them open for Tom Petty 2 years ago. Still...what is it about this band that makes me want to live life? Just listening to the music and the lyrics revitalizes even the darkest areas of my soul. Yay for music, dude. Yay for music. Ooohh...Descender just popped up on my iTunes...god, I love this band. Anyway, if you wanna hear Cursed Diamond, it's now the main song on my
Myspace Profile.
And that, as they say, is that. There are few more things I need to write about, but that's what Saturday and Sunday are for. :)
Time to go on my walk.
Rides that amputate body parts can SUCK IT!
