More snow!

Feb 09, 2009 19:32

I woke up to the lovely surprise of snow! Real snow! The proper slippery, beautiful and picturesque stuff. It looked stunning but wasn't the easiest thing to walk in. So bang went my plan to walk to uni, I even managed to wake myself up early enough to walk there in time. So I just jumped on the bus and got there early enough to eat some biscuits and read my new issue of Empire. I had some extra money so I treated myself in Blackwell (like I need the excuse) to The Damned Utd by David Peace, soon to be a film with Michael Sheen. Yes, it's true, there's another guy on the list. Seriously, watch the clip from the BAFTAs last night of him and David Frost and tell me he isn't adorable.

On that note, the BAFTAs were predictable but still enjoyable. Slumdog is sweeping up good and I'm happy for it. Sadly Milk went away empty handed and Penn didn't win. I was so rooting for him. But Mickey Rourke's speech was hilarious. And everyone thought Jonathan Ross would be the one making trouble. Kate Winslet didn't get as emotional as last time though, she must have been a bit embarassed by her Golden Globes moment. I thought she deserved to blub but the UK press have been very cruel about her. And after watching all the red carpet stuff from this year's award shows, Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto are probably my new M/F OTP! They are so freaking adorable together.

The family came to visit yesterday, including my gran. It was so lovely to see them all, especially since it was the first time my gran has been to the flat. My toilet cleaning skills were insulted though. But we had a lovely day, with Chinese buffet, walks and ASDA shopping to stock up on the essential student foods, like digestive biscuits and copius amounts of chopped tomatoes. You'd be amazed at how quickly I go through the stuff. So I'm just going to relax tonight with my new CD - Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog - and read my new book. Bliss.
