Tonight was a lovely night. My grandad got out of the rehabilitation centre for the night so we could all take him out for a meal. He is doing so well! The last time I saw him was before I went on holiday and he was doing great then. But now he's so much more confident in himself. He is more chatty and talkative, he looks well and has put on some weight. If you'd never seen him before you wouldn't really know the difference, except for the gaping crater in his head. He's still a bit away from comlete normality but he's making leaps that nobody had predicted. I'm so proud of him.
We all went to a nearby pub for a meal. It had to be close by so that grandad wouldn't get too tired. There was me, my family, my grandparents, my aunties, my auntie's new boyfriend and 2 of my cousins. We all had some funny chats and my sister made everyone think I was a pervert because of an old comment I'd found on a forum regarding a mean poster:
"Not if you were the last person on earth and there are no batteries. Are there batteries?"
Mum nearly wet herself but when I explained to her it wasn't my joke, she said I should just take credit for it. Nice to know my sarcastic creativity is appreciated! We're going to a birthday party tonight, one of my old school friends and family friends is 18 and she's come back home from her work up north to celebrate. Speaking of up north, I am dying to go to
Tilda Swinton's film festival in Nairn. It sounds so cool and original. Joel Cohen will be there and she's even picked a John Sessions film to be shown (mainly because her husband directed it but a showing is a showing). It costs £3 a ticket or a tray of cakes an you all sit on beanbags. So if anybody knows where I can rent a caravan for a few days, let me know!
