ANIMANIA 2009

For any of my Sydney friends that missed it, I am having a Code Geass cosplay party to celebrate my 19th birthday on the 20th of September (Sunday). The details are here~ The entry is f-locked, so if I met you recently or you've just found my LJ recently, just friend me ;) (let me know so I can friend you back though!) Also please leave a comment on the entry so I know who's coming, thanks everyone!
(I just found a heap of you guys that have added me ^__^;;; I've added you back, if I missed you let me know!! I wish LJ sent notifications when someone adds you!- or have I just turned that setting off?)
SO! ANIMANIA 2009!!
I was terribly unorganised and didn't end up finishing my costume for Saturday, even though I kept my mum and myself up till 3am Saturday morning! But either way, I made it to the con without too much trouble, skipped the 100m long line (seriously, HUGE- but so fun to just waltz to the front of) and rurumi came and got me from the front!
Now after years of stalking I met chancake, and it was such an honour!
So for most of Saturday I was manning Yumi and Chan's table with projectluke ~
It was lots of fun staring at their pretty merch all day~~~
Also got to say hi to lots of people, sorry I didn't get to hang out with you guys more!!
Now because the two of them wouldn't take "TAKE MY MONEY" for an answer, while they went to take photos, lukechan and I sat at their tables and sold each other merch |D (because she was selling Chan's stuff and I was selling Yumi's, so we just chucked money in their boxes) Ohohohoho.
Oh and everyone looked great as always, why are you all so talented?!?!
I was soooo tired by the end of the day, and I still had to go home and finish my costume x___x
Um, let's see...
SUNDAY. Sunday was just more exciting for me personally so I have a little more to say xD
So projectluke came over randomly around 8 o clock in the morning (on a Sunday morning people!) And we walked to the station to get to the convention again. We had to change trains, so while waiting for the second one I stood starting to put all my accessories on (geez there were a lot).
Upon arriving at the con, I put the rest of my costume on, trying about 5 million different ways to stick objects that were meant to just magically attach themselves to my arm! (By the way I was Li Xing Ke from Code Geass R2)
Soon I had to leave the table with
glorfindeland the others from the Code Geass group (Everyone,
give me your LJs!) and we went out for photos~
I was borrowing
strawbarry_gurl's wig, but as she hadn't arrived yet I improvised with my own hair |D
Of course after a very short amount of time all my accessories were flying all over the place! MRGH!!
This is what I get for opting with cheap sticky tape and very lame sewing skills. But then
glorfindel leant me her sewing kit and with Tianzi-sama's help we sewed everything back together xD (Oh god it was such a Xing Ke/Tian Zi moment, why didn't people get photos?!) Thank you guys!!!!
After many many photos we went back inside quickly, I ran into Straw and got the wig off her, and
had to go straight to cosplay marshalling.

(I thank all the people posting pictures on the Animania forums because I failed to get any pictures on my own camera >__< )
It was so nice that they had a LCD in the marshalling area where cosplayers were free to roam around and fix their costumes with a big mirror near the back. Well done Animania, it was my best cosplay-marshalling experience. So yeah, we actually got to see other people's skits on stage, even though their camera lines dropped for a bit (wants to get all technical about it just because she knows how these things worked now), but still, was good. There were some amazing skits, groups and cosplays in general this year ^___^
So after that I went back to mind Yumi and Chan's tables =] I'd already run off for half the day =p
Ooh I did manage to go over to Az's table and buy some stuff~ I also commissioned her~
Prettyy~ And oh, what oh what did I commish off this wonderful artist I have been following since like 2004?
What the heck else WOULD I commission someone?!?! -shot-
Oh God Az you are a God, they are SO EFFIN CUTE!!
Hmmm... ohh!!! Awards! I ran off for a little bit (leaving
projectluke
alone, sorry Takky!) to go check out the results for the day~
Oh boo who am I kidding I wanted to go see who won cosplay.
It was funny when the MC called out the winner of best skit instead of runner up, the girl ran on stage and he was like "OHSHI--"

Then oh gosh we won best group xDD
Thank you everyone for being so awesome, especially Aymie for bringing us all together!!! Wooottt!
So hmm... couple of hours later it was pack up time. I started taking off the million safety pins that was holding my costume together and helped Chan and Yumi pack up their stuff. Also had some fun helping
floatyman stuff money in their cash boxes xD
(You thought you got away with the $10 in his bag Chan? You were wrong!)
I had to rush off to go to dinner with my family... unfortunately lukechan had convinced me to change at home that morning and I totally forgot to bring an extra shirt!!! So I went to dinner in half my cosplay!!! LOL it was pretty weird.
OVERALL, I had such an amazing weekend, made some awesome new friends! It's the first time I entered cosplay since 2007 and geez it was very fun hearing screams when you walk on stage! Such a wonderful experience!! THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR MAKING MY WEEKEND SO TOTALLY AWESOMEEE!!!!
