This session begun with Riley taking a compel to seek refuge with her currently separated Ex-husband White Court vampire Felix. She arrives home to find the butler Marcus welcoming her home, and fixes her her favorite meal. After she finishes, Felix returns home, not surprised to find that she's returned.
We quickly enter into a social conflict, as Felix attempts to get Riley to open up to him and tell him everything that's transpired in the last few months. After spending a FATE point to resist a compel to kiss him, Riley is forced to take a mild consequence and concedes the conflict, giving Felix a lot of the "public" info, without sharing all the parts that would get anyone thrown into prison.
She turns into bed, and has this horrific dream, in which Felix's vamp demon is climbing onto the bed about to devour her, and she can't move at all, except to wake up screaming.
As she looks around shakily, that dark shadows coalesce into one of the evil fae Cheshire cats, who proceeds to pounce onto her, pinning her down to the bed. He delivers his message that Mab is displeased by their interference, and ultimately their release of the King of Spring from his icy prison. He warns her that the balance must be restored, and that the Autumn King must be persuaded to return to his Wife.
The cat slashes a scratch across her throat when she lips off to him, and then he leaps through the wall, phasing outside just as Felix barges in.
Riley hastily beats a retreat from the house, knowing now that it no longer has a threshold since she has left.
Meanwhile, the gang is held up in Alex's mansion, and they try to figure out what to do. Ted and Venus trade barbs, as Ted blames his place crawling with Feds to her quest to recover her apple.
After a while, Ted receives a call from Agent Winters, who has gone deep into hiding. Riley is pissed about this fact, since previously, while impersonating Winters and trying to break into his home she was shot at by our two rouge Agents, Cooper and Anderson.
Winters brushes her off, asking that they need to meet so Riley can create the illusion of the two agents, so he can confirm their Identity. They decide to meet up at the Church.
Before the meeting, Riley decides to go to the ASPCA to pick up her basset hound, who was at Ted's when the Police raided his place. When she arrives, she is quite surprised to find Agent Cooper and Agent Anderson already there, waiting for her!
She quickly throws up a glamour of her Mother, and tries to bluff the two agents that she hasn't seen Riley, and that she is just picking up her dog for her. Agent Cooper takes out his cell phone and calls someone, and Riley's mother answers! Busted!... As that happens, someone else enters the office, and she bolts for the door.
Cooper pulls out a Desert Eagle and fires at Riley, hitting the innocent bystander as she flees. As she sprints down the hallway, she hears the bark of gunfire and the scream of the ASPCA woman helping her earlier.
I use the chase rules, and it goes back and forth as Riley manages to barely get back to her car and peel out of the parking lot, bullets shattering her windows. She drives to a nearby BART station, ditches her car, and meets back up with the group.
Later the group drives out the Church, where Winters pulls up in a Silver BMW-looking Car, much to folks consternation.Riley does her thing, and confirms that it is indeed Cooper and Anderson, whom he has worked with as the guise of Homeland Security on braking up a weapon smuggling operation. It was obvious that they were involved. He informs the group that another shipment is expected to go down tonight. He parts with the group, going to utilize his contacts to avoid being on the wrong side of a Federal investigation, leaving the group to take Cooper and Anderson for questioning.
A quick plan is worked out, where Venus is going to pretend to be a lost damsel in distress, distract everyone, and they are going to snatch and grab the two agents. They head to the Oakland docks for the midnight rendezvous, and there are about a dozen "dock-workers" as well as the two agents supervising.
Venus lays down a massive Rapport based block, grabbing everyone's attention, while the rest sneak forward. Venus managed to hold them for several rounds, Ted goes for a sleeper hold, while Riley attempts to shot Cooper with her Borrowed P-90 assault rifle from Winters. I throw a massive compel to her DRAWN TO TROUBLE, and she opens up with the P-90 on full auto from mere feet away, instantly killing Cooper and turning him into human hamburger. Ted manages to grapple and choke out Anderson, throws him over his shoulder in a fireman's carry, and books it back to the car while the wizard lays down covering "fireworks", tossing folks off the pier into the water and other non-lethal methods of dealing with folks.
The all managed to successfully escape with the unconscious Federal Agent unconscious and locked in the boot of the Jeep. And that is where we ended for the evening.
What Rocked: COMPELS!! several awesome compels where given out, though they were mostly directed to Riley. Alystria's player came up with the "Kiss him as a distraction" compel during the social conflict with the vampire, and I compelled her to kill the Dirty Agent in a very messy manner.
What could improve: I think the pacing was off, both this week and last. I had wanted to get to this point at the end of last session, but my insane commute home from the bay area fried me to a crisp. I don't know if I let several RP scenes run on too long, but I was not in any particular hurry to wrap them up, cause I wanted the cliffhanger at the Docks scene to be where we ended.
