Issuing a challenge...to myself

Work has been insane (which has been the standard and will be for another few months) and I haven't written any more since early in the month.

But, I'm close, real close, to finishing the first very rough draft of my back story novel. So, I'm issuing myself a challenge to finish the book this weekend. I hope I'll be able to pull it off. It's a bit hard to judge how many words are left (I suspect at least 5000 words) but I think I can write the amount needed.

Thinking back to when I started this novel, back in November as my first NaNoWriMo project, I wrote about 11,000 words over the opening weekend, so I should be able to finish this thing finally.

I also want to finish reading Staying Dead, Book 1 of Laura Anne Gilman's Retrievers Series.

I'm still up in the air about what to read next. I do have the next two Retrievers novels in mass market so there's that option. But there are other books I've really been meaning to get to for a while now.

If I manage to finish writing my back story and finish reading Staying Dead, I'll make my decision.
