Today the people on Z100 were talking about the differences in how men and women listen to music. Rob Thomas (sorry, countouttheday, not that Rob Thomas) was their guest and one of the DJs commented on the wonderful lyrics to "3 AM." That got them talking about how men usually listen to popular music for the music and women listen for the lyrics. I thought they were crazy but then I remembered how one of my college roommates was all about the lyrics and I could never understand why. As they describe it, I listen to music "like a guy." I don't know most of the words Janis Joplin sings but I know exactly how her music makes me feel. And so I ask you:
