Missing Dr. Bader

As I study for comps I find myself going back to my notes from Dramaturgy and from Vision and Form at Villanova University. Especially to V&F. I miss having Dr. Bader as my teacher. A quote from my class notes...not quite word-for-word Dr. Bader, but you'll get the idea.

In tragedy we venture into the dark. In Romanticism we venture into the dark but we don't learn from it and bring something back to change this world--instead the darkness is our cosmic home. Romanticism...dreams in progress...don't read/see it as realism. It is sign language of the anguished soul.

Why don't my professors here talk like that? I UNDERSTAND the above description much better than any dry list of the characteristics of romanticism.

Thanks Dr. Bader!
