Greetings from the other side of the pond to usual. I am having the BEST time here and I really don't want to go home. So far I've seen Times Square, the Rockefeller Center, freaked out in the NBC store over all the Office merchandise, walked through Greenwich Village, Little Italy, Chinatown, taken the Staten Island ferry, checked out the Statue of Liberty and spent money in the gap. I still can't quite believe that I'm here. My friend and her family are the nicest people in the world and I feel right at home. And I'm sleeping better than I have in months because I'm actually relaxed and my body is finally on a time zone that it appreciates. Today we're going to see Central Park before it rains and probably duck into the Natural History museum when it does. Afterward we're planning to catch a movie or a show. Every little thing here excites me from the cute houses to the taxi cabs: I feel like a kid in a candy store. From now on I am going to hop over the pond at every possible opportunity because I even enjoyed the flight for once in my life (on which I met a very cute guy from London whose number I entirely failed to take). But the absolute best thing about this vacation is getting to see my friend Emma again for the first time in nearly three years. I'm simply in heaven.
