A Moment of Opportunity

A few things worth mentioning before getting to the good stuff:

- My car is in the shop right now.  Saturday before last, the timing chain broke and busted the whole engine and has thus resulted in my having paid $3500 for a new engine with a two-year warranty.  I was supposed to have my car back by now, but the new engine they got in had a broken manifold, so they are fixing that before putting it in my car.  Currently, I am driving my mother's car, because I'm that cool.

- Duke had his last Hammond improv show last night at Mule's.  He is packing up and moving to Chicago this week to strike it on his own.

- All that is left to get for my apartment are a couple room dividers and some area rugs.  I have completed the construction of my new entertainment center, computer desk, book case, going to finish constructing my new bed frame by the end of the week, and I got a new futon for the place.

- SELU improv auditions this week.  ARGH!

Now, on to more important things...

I think I'm going to throw my BESM Dragonball-based game out there one more time, and if I can get about 3 - 4 people for the game, that would work just swell (Guy, Caleb, Jordan, and Brett???).  Once I get back into a role-playing mentality and get my 7th Sea books back from Sean Neuerburg, I might throw my hat in the ring for GMing a 7th game (Since you-all love it so much).  I give all of you a solemn promise that neither game will fritter out after only one or two sessions, so it will be worth you time, should you decide you are interested.

Comedy, comedy, comedy... so much funny spread around these days.  Rotolo's is going to start a stand-up comedy night on Thursdays and I have been invited to participate in that, so wooo!  Stand-up in Hammond?!  WTF?!  I have also been invited to start attending High Horse improv rehearsals (The Mule's group), so that will be a fun new venture.  With those two new prospects thrown into the mix, that brings me up to at least eight comedy shows a week.  Heck, who knows, maybe one day I'll make some friends and they might come and watch one (Besides the almost always horrendous campus shows).

Something worth mentioning to end this post on a high note:  I will be auditioning for NBC's "Last Comic Standing" this Friday in Houston.  Wish me luck, because I am probably going to need it.

I'll write more later...
