John Hughes.
I'm so far behind on everything lj-except my fic(yay!)so I'm sure this has probably been posted, but it's certainly worth posting again for anybody that might not have seen it.
I considered writing something about John Hughes death but the truth is while I enjoyed his movies I was never devoted to them, never rewatched them again and again, never felt that was me on the screen. Still when I heard he'd died there was an ache for another part of my childhood lost. The one thing that always stood out for me in his movies was the genuine heart underneath.
