Ramblings-Nano, Shawshank, and the Forsaken
So-I have one day left of vacation-being today, and I can't convince my brain that we don't have to go to work tonight. *woe*
Also can't convince my brain to Nano, even though we've been contemplating the story for weeks now. *extreme woe*
Just watched Shawshank Redemption finally. What a lovely, lovely movie. I have to stop watching prison movies and shows though. They engender I think too much sympathy from me.
Forsaken-gayest vamp movie ever. I mean really. Vamp movies=guy, girl, vampire. Even in lesbian vampire movies, there's usually a guy trying to rescue the woman from the evil girl loving blood sucker. Yet Forsaken? Guy, Guy, Vamp. Oh there's a girl, but she's clearly just a token. Unconscious most of the movie and dumped at the hospital at the end, where our intrepid heros ride off together.
(ETA: I just saw a gayer vamp movie than Forsaken. Masters of Horror episode called the V word-I kid you not. No women, just two best friends, creepy mortuary, and a vampire who turns out to like nubile young boys(Michael Ironside)who plans on keeping them as his sex slaves I can only imagine. I mean there is suggestiveness, lip rubbing, good grief. Not to mention the boys were pretty darn slashy. I can't decide if they meant to imply something about their relationship or if it just comes across that way due to the extreme perviness of the vamp.)
ETA Nano piece now stands at 595 words. Woohoo! Don't know where the hell this is going, not the story I planned on doing for the past month, but hey, there's actually words going from my head onto the page-er screen.
