Today I smelled changed in the air when I woke up. I dove into a deep, familiar dream-like darkness to understand the clouds in my heart. For the first time since I started my job I took a "mental health" afternoon to refresh my vibes and rejuvenate.
In the evening I found myself driving around Bright's Grove, the beautiful tree-filled neighbourhood where I'm moving. The last week or so I was really dreaming about creating my own space - to create an energy field of who I am and what I love and what I want to share. Out of the blue, my amazing co-worker said she had a cottage by the beach to rent. We are all at a concert and during the entire second part of the concert my heart was blooming and beaming at the idea of this cottage. I found out today that it will be mine! I'm really excited to live there, jam there, love there, flourish there. My sunset drive around Bright's Grove revealed to me a few places I forgot were there - that I've since been to in my dreams many times. This really magically confirms that this new chapter in my life will be a lovely, divine, delicious one.
While sitting on the beach, watching the pink sunset reflect on blue-grey Lake Huron I wondered what the name means, maybe the blue heron? And this led me to consider my own name. For about a year now I've had my new name, one that is more authentic, inspired and true... Cora. Tonight I decided I'm stepping into my best self and using the name that represents that, a name that reflects my most genuine self.
Court Lajoie to me means courting joy, trying to develop a relationship with it. Cora Lajoie means that joy is my core. It also reminds me of the French word for heart, coeur. As well one of the original names for the Goddess Persephone is Kore...
I hereby proclaim that my name is Cora Lajoie. Those who want to keep calling me Court or Courtney or Sunflower may do so. Heck, call me muffin if you want to. This name change is for my own heart, radiating more and more of who I really am.
