The Habit Challenge

Feb 22, 2005 01:12

Okay, everyone .. here is the 'pre-intro' entry to my Habit challenge. I have a few questions to ask before I get this started. I know I said I'd make the post Sunday but I got way caught up in my studies and didn't get a chance. For those who want to participate please answer these following questions.

So first question,

What day of the week do you want to start? I want a day that will be the best day for everyone because the day we start will be the day we check in weekly. Say we choose this Friday - every Friday for the next 3 weeks we will check in. So tell me a day that you know you will probably be able to access livejournal.

Secondly,

How do you feel about 42 days rather than the original 21-23 days? The way I see it is.. if it takes about 21 days to make a habit, why not go for double that time to make absolutely sure this habit is "permanent". Plus, reading varying sources of just "how long it takes" a lot say that it takes 3-6 weeks which would be 21-42 days. It is a long time definitely, but are we in this for life or are we not?

I'll make a more in depth post about everything once I receive your answers. I know I'm getting amped up about this.. but I am! A lot of the reason is because I really would like to kick some of my bad habits and I would like to become dedicated. If I know that I have "something" to check into daily or weekly with others I think it will help a great deal. I don't know if I'll benefit from this or if any of you who join in on it with me will, but I promise you... during the course of this "challenge" I will be here trying to motivate you, I will be positive and hopefully inspiring, and I hope more than anything I will also lead you by example and stick with this.

I'm so tired of just not putting my best effort forward. So, take the time in between this entry and the "official introduction" entry to decide whether you want to become dedicated to this as well, and join me in hopes of making a newer, better, person out of ourselves. I'm doing this because I want this to work, I want to change my life and keep it changed. And if I can help someone do the same by showing them what I'm going through, helping them go through the same thing, motivating them with a optimistic-hopeful challenge, then hell yeah I'm gonna do it!

Much love :)
