Sunday River 2005
Ok so I went up to Sunday River for the weekend... FOR FREE! It was amazing, my cousin Shawn won a trip for him and about 20 of his friends. (He doesn't have that many! I love you Shawnboy!) I know it sounds weird but me and him are actually really close so obviously I got to go! Everyone could tell we were related, kinda look the same and have similar personality features (ocd, skinny, hair colour and cameras). So friday me and Court headed up to Maine. We left around 2:45 had no problem getting through Boston, New Hampshire and Maine.... until we got off 95. The directions that we were given told us to go one way, we were supposed to go a completely different way. We stopped for directions about 4 times, called Shawn almost every half hour asking where the hell is Sunay River!? He told us he had just left Walmart... we had just driven by a Walmart! So we were told that his friend would meet us there... apparently there are more then one Walmarts in a 25 mile radius! Well 8:30 that night we finally arrived at Sunday River! Everyone basically got there around that time, which was good we weren't the first or last to arrive! It was also Shawn's birthday so we all had cake and other party favorites. My cousin's friends were all from his chorus group and some from high school. I knew his friends from high school already and one from his chorus group. Didn't matter, we made friends fast! Shawn tried to play the role of protective older sibling by doing the pointing at his eyes then at me signal (I'm watching you) and assigning Court as my 'babysitter' (she sure failed at that job!) He did this because a couple of the guys on the trip happened to say to him "dude, your cousin's hot!" I know who you are, thanks and thanks for having Shawn making sure we were never together! (He too failed!) Everyone jumped in the hot tub after throwing their stuff in their rooms. Went around and introduced everyone, it was kinda weird saying I was a senior in group of people aging from college freshman to juniors. But everyone made me feel welcomed, mostly the guys... only a couple of the girls would talk to me (I love Brittany, Kerry, Lauren and Melissa!) not gonna lie it was wierd... but I don't mind! I met the kid that was supposed to meet me at Walmart, I might have yelled at him for ditching me haha we are cool now it was all in good fun. Everyone went to bed relatively early (1 in the morning) so that we could get on the slopes at 8.
Me, Court, Randy, Danny and Lauren were all snowboarding. Me and Randy were the only ones who had ever been so we had to teach the other three. I wanted to take them on the tow rope to teach them haha but Randy wouldn't let me! (if you have ever been snowboarding and tried the tow rope... you get what I'm saying). Randy is a kickass snowboarder and even helped me a little! Danny turned out to be pretty good and Lauren is just adorable! The conditions on the mountain were pretty crappy; snow/rain/hail/fog/slush/shitty. We had to go back for lunch/dry our clothes which felt good to have warm dry clothes on again... and went back to the slopes! I took a pretty bad spill, cut my chin, hit my head and landed on my rib cage! Needless to say I'm pretty fucking sore! The hot tub felt soooo good after all that, went in twice that night! We also had our big dinner Saturday night too, it was pretty good. Once again me and Seth had a few disagreements. Mike had to sit inbetween us to keep us apart. We eventually fixed everything and were back to normal (we were never seriously fighting... it was more like flirting) I was so tired from being killed by the weather and tons of boarding that I took a little nap in Dave and Randy's room until someone hit me with a bottle cap! Also jello shots got my attention! Ok so I might have done 6 in about an hour and had a triple black after that. I was a little giggly as I like to call it. I was never drunk or ever tipsy, Mike helped me stay pretty normal by having good conversations and watching the hardcore poker game (crackers, gold fish and twislers!) Soon after that Seth and I decided that we were wicked tired and went to take a nap/watch a movie. Which turned into watching the Nickelodeon kids choice awards and getting Mike to come hot tub with us! I spent the rest of the night hanging out with them two while Court fell asleep on Dave and Randy's couch. (Didn't think she wanted to be disturbed so I left her there haha I love you!) Funny how I spent most of my time with the only 21 year old guys on the trip and didn't know that one of even 20 for half the time! After listening to them all sing for our neighbors and almost falling asleep on Mike's couch I eventually went back to my room. It had to be around 12:30 and Court was half asleep already. For some reason I was awake again! Seth called me and was like I'm awake a bunch of people are still hanging out come join. Yeah went back to my room at 4:30 (I have no idea is that is with or without the time change! Fucking time change screwed us all over!
Sunday it was even crappier weather than the day before! So we decided to just pack up and get an early start on the ride home. Half the people had already left and the only cars were me, Shawn, Mike and Seth. Seth's car wouldn't start so we had to wait for AAA to come and fix it. It was all because some wire was wet! After the guy brushed it with a rag the car started instantly! (We had been trying to jump it for the last 45 min too) So finally we were on the road. Since only Mike knew how to get home we all followed him. Shawn had to be the cool kid who stayed a 100 yards behind us three, I was kinda hoping someone would cut him off and he would get lost haha. No I love him dearly. We all stopped at Wendy's for a quick lunch, then on the road again! Once we hit the highway we all kinda separated. Shawn being slow was far far behind, Seth stopped at a rest stop for some reason and so it was just me and Mike for probably an hour or so. Then we went our separate ways once we hit the Boston area. Yes it was an amazing trip, I don't have enough energy to explain it and give it more praise that it definitely deserves. Kickass. That covers it, one of the greatest trips I've been on. We should have a reunion tour next year! Love you all, can't wait to see you this weekend! Nice how Shawn's friends tell me to come up to their concert and party with them before Shawn even does! Haha should be an awesome time again! Love you all!
