Fidelity Investments - Toronto, Ontario

Just another example of how my family members, or maybe just me, can laugh at the most mindless things. Darren was visiting this past week for the U.S. Thanksgiving vacation and we decided to have dinner on Saturday night before he left. Of course, Darren and Lorraine somehow managed to contract an ugly cold/fever/flu thingy and brought it with them to dinner.

So, the three of us get to the restaurant first and are sitting down to a table of 9, me of course sandwiched between the sickly. As everyone knows, at any Chinese restaurant your tea comes first and of course, you flip your little tea cup over to pour yourself and your nearest companions, if you’re polite and well mannered, a cup of tea. Haha, we didn’t get to the pouring part.

Due to a seating conflict among tables, the servers kindly asked us to move to a smaller table and of course, we agreed with no problems. As the three of us move to the new table and are settling down in a similar seating arrangement, Darren turns to me and Lorraine and says, with a little smile and the funny crinkles next to his eyes, that he just coughed in his upturned tea cup at the last table. He proceeds to demonstrate how he coughed in his cup while me and Lorraine began to laugh hysterically. (or maybe it was just me laughing hysterically…..haha……)

Anyways, I could only watch as a middle aged lady sat down to the spot where Darren’s lonely and innocent looking upturned cup sat and could only shake my head with laughter about how sick she was going to soon be. AHHH....only Darren....Darren....Darren....Darren.

And that is the story of how Darren may have inadvertently spread his yucky cold and flu to one innocent family who just wanted to go to Chi’s Noodle and Congee for a simple family dinner.
