The Hobbit.

I finally managed to watch The Hobbit last night on IMAX and I am glad that I had the chance to see it on big screen. Beside the special effects and the amazing computer animations (you really have no idea where the illusion begins and where it ends, right?) the cast was great. I think I felt kind of sentimental being back in Middle Earth after ten ( Read more... )

Hi pumpkin. :)

Funny you should say that about Legolas - Cat and I talked about that some and both agreed Legolas was very "cold" in this film. I still like him a lot, but he was a bit too "bad-ass" if you know what I mean. I still liked it a LOT though. Smaug was amazing. I need to see it again, as the print I saw screwed up during the dragon scene and it was jerky and weird, so no good.

I hope work slows down for you? I am managing all my crazy ailments and trying to be cheerful and surviving the strange winter we're having here. 12 F one day and 70F three days later. WTF Texas???

Bard. Mmmm. :))))

<333 and stay in touch. And write!!

I saw it that way:
This is a young Legolas who is not that thoughtful and calculating like in LOTR because he does not know what life might bring. If I make sense??

Ah gosh, nothing is as annoying as a screwed up print when you pay for a movie and want to watch it NOW. I hope you will make it again. I will have to watch part one on DVD now.

As you ladies like Bard I should probably think about a story with him *laughs* no ideas yet though.

Yes, work life slows down at the moment. Thank God. I assume weather is odd allover the world at the moment. Same here: most time it is like spring but the one or other day it is dep winter just to return back to spring.

Yes, ma'am, I write. I would still prefer to write with others but obviously I have to write on my own *laughs* I am a dawdler then.

Charlie.

I am so very glad that you got to see it on the big screen! I have too since you last posted about it. As Ashley mentioned, we also talked about how cold and 'old' Legolas seemed in this film...so what happened between The Hobbit and later on in LotR movies when he was more innocent and wide-eyed I wonder? *laughs* Orlando aged is what! Ha! Yet Cate Blanchet looked the same, as did Ian McKellan! Brilliantly done though - much better than the first Hobbit film. And yes...Bard is played by quite the handsome actor. *g* My type of fellow. *laughs* Smaug was brilliant too. I also thought Thranduil was intriguing.

I hope that you do write! The film was certainly inspiring and it was a real pleasure to return to that world.

Take care of yourself and keep in touch!!

PS. I should make some Hobbit icons! All that I have is this one Aragorn icon uploaded. *laughs*

As I said to Ashley above:
I saw it that way: This is a young Legolas who is not that thoughtful and calculating like in LOTR because he does not know what life might bring. If I make sense?? If I would have to explain it with another reason than Bloom aging... I think it is not difficult to look exactly the same when you play Gandalf. Just a lot of messy hair and piles of grey cloths. I can say that for me it was exactly the different portraying of Legolas that was inspiring (beside the new storyline and characters of course). I am also sure that the different blue colour of the contacts underline the colder expression very much ( ... )

Wow, we don't have any IMAX here. Bet it's amazing and impressive to watch it on such big screen!! Can't believe you missed part 1 *g* I enjoyed that one a bit more because it shows how the gang gets together. But the second part is great as well. And it start's in Bree with Peter's Cameo - no surprise you felt back in Middle Earth. Yes, it's a great cast and oh dear, I have a pretty big crush on Bard/Luke Evans now :D

I think what is impressive is more the quality of the movie (very HD) than the size of the screen itself. It is like an improved 3d version.
Ah well, I assume I was not reasdy for another Middle Earth adventure back then as I was not that impressed by the book. It was probably a good thing that I saw a trailer by chance. Otherwise I would have missed part 2, too. Yes *laughs* the beginning in Bree was like: ha, I know that place!
And another young lady who fell for Bard... *winks*

Charlie.
