"It was a Saturday"

Haven't done much today. I had planned to go and watch Cornelis, but haven't really felt like it. When I woke up, it took me quite some time to realize it was indeed Saturday, not Friday - what a relief! I've also emptied a closet so that Mia has some room for her clothes, and tried to get some writing done. I am now 1,313 words shy of 20k, and need to chug out another 2,980 words in one hour and 25 minutes to be back on track. Could I manage this? I should. I just need to show up at the page. And possibly Write or Die.

I'm starting to get a feel for my MC now, which is nice. Finding out that he has problems talking to people about things related to his health gives some explanation to why some portions of his life is more difficult to write than others.... I also have a tendency to rush through the scenes, relying on dialog to forward the story. I know I have problems with this, but I have yet to find a technique to show rather than tell that works for me. Any suggestions?

E texted me and asked me if I wanted to come and check out the progress on her apartment. It's starting to look really nice, and I can hardly wait for Mia and me to try and create a home from our respective belongings in a 2BR apartment I hope we will get our hands on before long (but there's a huge surge for rental apartments in town atm). Then we went back to my place, and I haven't moved from the couch since. At least I've managed to get some more writing done! I really like the story, and I hope to expand it once November is over.

Speaking of the novel, I'd better get back to it. :)

writing, move, nanowrimo, friends
