Had a really productive day writing today; I blame the sun. It was warm, very much still the first flush of Spring. I must have spent about four hours in my garden basking in the sun and writing, writing, writing, working on my novel. Heaven. A proper, decent update to this journal is overdue methinks. A general sort of "this is how I am, this is what I'm doing, this is what my life is" sort of post. And that post is coming, yes. But in general, we're good. So, result.

Since the new year began, I've been slaving away on my first novel since 2006, and I've already gotten the first three chapters - about 20,000 words - down.

The only trouble is I have no idea what I'm going to do with it once its done, or who the audience for it really is, but at least I'm having fun with it. And doing something productive with my ( Read more... )

For the first time in years, I had a truly 'writery' day, and managed to crank out over five thousand words on a piece I'm co-writing with invisiblewolf.

I'm making a resolution now, that next year I shall take part in NaNoWriMo for the first time*, after spending seven years slagging it off. I blame jayintheclouds for his win this year in inspiring me to take this step ( Read more... )
