I stopped at Albertson's after work to get a few things and when I got in line, the cashier was talking to another customer about how you can put your phone number in the machine and access your "Preferred Shopper" discount. He goes on to say that in at any grocery store in any city that has those clubs, you can type in the local area code + 867-

Supposedly it was one guy with an internet connection and too much time on his hands who did it...and it's not just Albertson's, it's supposed to be ALL grocery chains. I was told it even works at the Co-Op...

I read somewhere that phone companies reserve that number so no one can use it. I also read that is the most famous number.
