The Day the Earth Stood Still

Soooo, last night a couple of friends took me out to see the re-make of The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Here is the low down: (possible spoiler - do not read on if you are planning on seeing this)

1. Not a movie worth spending $8.50; maybe a matinee, but not the higher price.

2. If you are going to make a film that is based off a certain area; PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your research of the area. People who live in the area will be seeing this movie which means the director should make sure that the areas of a certain state, say New Jersey is correct, which was not......not at all......

3. The director I think is either secretly Michael Bay or wants to be him; took his lead with product placement in movies - i.e. The Island; which was nothing but a long commercial. But when it is suppose to be a dramatic movie and the Golden Arches appears just so perfectly in the scene....hmmmm.....didn't realize that the arches and LG and Microsoft were so detrimental in saving the human race from extinction. Oh and Giants Stadium is part of this savior movement also; which was not shown constructed correctly or even facing the right direction. (The old Devil's arena is right next door; think I would know this from being there so often)

::sigh::

I really did want to see something that was re-made well and enjoyable. I made snarky comments through out the whole movie, which is a bad thing because that means that I am bored with the movie........
