....Next time you put a liner in someone's chimney, please use drop-cloths.  I just had to clean soot from the INSIDE of my washing machine.   I know you wiped down the dryer (at least on one side), but both machines were still sooty.  The counter with my detergents is even worse.   I haven't had the heart to look at the top of the freezer ( Read more... )

Our new furnace is officially up and running.  Most of the radiators have been bled and are heating, although there are a couple that are hard to get to, like the one behind the sewing machine with all my button and sewing supply boxes on it.   (The wrapping paper from Christmas was still on top of the sewing machine cabinet.  That's now returned ( Read more... )

Our new furnace is sitting down there in the basement, all hooked up and waiting to be started.  Problem is, the installers can't put in the chimney liner in the rain.  The roof is too slippery.   So we still don't have heat for tonight.   About the time they were ready to work on the liner, the rain started.  Wonderful.   It's supposed to be cold ( Read more... )
