(no subject)
In my huge panic last night, I completely forgot that I own two laptops... Needless to say, this one is having the shit scanned out of it (literally!) and it seems to be clean, so yay! I feel nervous, being down to one laptop.
Craig the Computer Man is coming tomorrow afternoon to have a look at the problem. The malware/trojans/virus (I don't know the difference) seem to have scrambled all my pathways, which is why I can't use any applications or anything. That said, Asher and Vecchio are still visible on my background which is a HUGE improvement on the last attack I got on that laptop! \o/ Pretty boys helped my blood pressure. At the moment, I'm optimistic that Craig can locate the infected file(s) and clean/remove them tomorrow without having to take my laptop away to the workshop. His secretary/girlfriend said it sounded fairly simple. I know there are a fuckton of trojans on there but I *think* most of them are only medium risk, so my laptop has just been....confused. Last time, its processing/memory/drives stuff was getting eaten away and stuff sloooooowed down and died slowly. This one just seems to have slammed a brick wall between my and my stuff so I can't make any attempts to remove the shit from the laptop. So hopefully my files and applications will be okay :s
Now I'm scared to ever use surfthechannel.com ever, ever again. I don't think I will >_>
