The Oscars...

The first little bit that Billy did was hilarious, but the rest of the act was kind of stale. I actually think the awards are going down hill. There weren't any big surprises (of course), meaning most of the people that should have gotten it did, but that some of the smaller films that deserved awards were beaten out by the more popular big name ones. I don't know, it just seams like everybody was missing their cues and tripping over diologue at the mic. In addition I disagree with their lack of a podium. Even the best actors simply looked awkward just standing up there with no center of focus. The intent, I think, was to put the focus squarely on the actor or actress recieving the award, which in some was is admirable, but I think it proved to be more of a distraction then a flattering gesture. All in all it was what it was; An award ceremony in which people have mainly forgotten what it originally meant to recieve that unique honor. And don't even get me started about the long and drawn out choices for the live musical numbers. Poeple were falling asleep! Oh well...
