Paralympic victory, woo hoo
As various RL friends know, one of my best friends, Laurentia Tan, was due to compete in the equestrian part of the Paralympics. Despite the fact that this was her first time as a Paralympian, she's come away with TWO bronzes!!! This is especially remarkable when you consider that her second event was Freestyle to Music, which is not easy when you are profoundly deaf. So deaf, in fact, that I know she can barely hear the music at all.
You can google her for pics and reports. Singapore, quite naturally, are hysterical with delight at her success since Lauren's achievement means a 'first' for them - they've never taken a medal at the Paras before.
And in other news: the nasty people who did You-Know-What have been caught. Not got stuff back, naturally, but that really would have been optimistic.
