Finally had a day off today. This six or seven in a row thing is exhausting. My attempt to sleep as long as humanly possible resulted in my getting up at 9:45, but A for Effort. Or E maybe. New roomate was moving in this morning, so I decided to give him some space...besides the whole room we already gave him...to move in. I thought it would be awkward if I just sat on the couch watching Alias while he hauled everything past me. Apparently he's got a fish tank in his room. The thing makes noise. I spent five minutes trying to figure out where the major bubbly leak was in the apartment.
So I ate my chocolate lucky charms, english muffin and teeccino and headed out to the YMCA to work it all off. It surprises me the uncomfortable looking fashions people will head to the gym in. Today a 40 year old woman was sporting a mid-drif (sp?) bearing, three quarter sleeve, sheer white turtleneck and sports bra combo. This was not hot. But boy did it look awkward. Turtleneck! at the gym. Who does that.
After that, I went to visit Grammy Bea's grave since it a sunny saturday and not too cold. There was a lot of bulldozer action at the Veterans Cemetary this morning, which was not too conducive (sp again?) to quiet mourning and reflection. One woman had to go up to the dozer and yell to the operator "THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'M VISITING MY HUSBANDS GRAVE" to get him to knock it off for a while. I also noted that Grammy needs some flowers. Everyone else has great pointsettas or some such adorning their site.
Then I had a Saturday morning check in with Edogg on the phone and enjoyed a sesame bagel and mocha latte at Sophie's coffee in NK, like it was 2001. Ahh, the old days.
Tonight I am going to Narragansett to visit Shelley and Jay to see their new house. The three of us are going to order some food and put up the tree. It'll be nice to see Rory, Paulo, Pumpkin and Henry and whatever other animal friends they've acquired lately. I miss those little fellas.
Aloha,
$hades.
