People are not objects of property, like a computer, cell phone, or car. This should be a recognizable truth to all.
Therefore, when in a relationship with someone, there is no ownership conferred. You and the other are both separate individuals with all rights intact.
Love and relationships should not be about an attempt to corner the market on a valued commodity - people are not property. If you love someone, then give your love freely and if they are worthy, they will return it in kind. Further more, love yourself first and foremost and realize your worth, and know that your self confidence will be much more attractive and promoting of healthy loving relationships than neediness and the lack of confidence that goes with attempting to lock away the target of your affections for fear that they may leave for something better.
