Boxer, no; Grunt, yes

Moving sucks. I'm real good at loading boxes onto and off of trucks, but I am utter crap at filling boxes. I think it comes from my logical and ordered nature - I am attracted to order and it is almost painful to just fill boxes at near random. Plus the vast amount of minutiae overwhelms me.

The new place will be nice, I am still very much looking forward to being back in a house, but our excitement has been tainted by the cleanliness problems with the new place. It still smells of dog. It came down to me hiring a carpet cleaning company to come out on Thursday to do a job on it and, in the serviceman's professional opinion, the carpets had not been cleaned. The filters from his treatment were filthy! His cleanup has helped, but there is still a pervasive odor, much lessened, and yet readily apparent. I want to believe it will fade with time, but realistically I know it is very unlikely to change any significant amount during my tenancy there. On the up-side, I only anticipate being in Redding for another year or two, so it's really just a stepping stone that I can deal with. I'm going to take the cleaning bill along with the serviceman's written comments down to the property management agency tomorrow and tell them they need to reimburse me because they said they had it cleaned and it wasn't.

More packing and such awaits. Tootles.
