I don't believe in cutting up animals for scientific purposes or that animals should ever be put to painfull deaths. I do like eating them though and I like to know how they died. I prefer eating meat that I know was hunted and killed quickly. Not kept in a pen for it's entire life and treated poorly.

The main difference being that the rest of the animal kingdom still needs to hunt other animals to live, and even if it's not necessary there's little evidence their brains are advanced enough to be empathetic. We on the other hand are advanced enough scientifically that the killing of anything for food or clothing is now completely unnecessary and advanced enough mentally to have such things as cognition and compassion and religion, but we keep killing things because we like the taste or the fashion. Your comparison is bunk
