i just took the darwin fish magnet off my old bunkbed and broke it half. because evolution is not destiny. genes are not destiny. they are ideas, albiet physically manifest, solidified. this whole shebang was set in motion by a creator; the catch is that each and every one of us is that creator. and we should not let ourselves be deceived by our own creation. the world is the way it is because we collectively want it that way. only our combined will, starting at individual bases but quickly multiplying, can change the direction of our personal and societal directions.
time is running out for us to save the world. the good news is that a lot of people hate the way things are currently going. you are not alone, and i mean that. nobody is satisfied with the isolation, inadequacy, and destruction that define modern life. I, and countless others, feel your pain and see the senselessness of greed and war and instant gratification. We can look at our problem as a severe imbalance, between man and nature, man and machine, man and god, and machine and god. it is our responsibility to correct it. Technology is not inherently bad; it can be harnessed to improve lives and protect rather than destroy the environment. Corporations are not inherently bad, but they need to be governed by sensible, agreed-upon laws ensuring their function as social servants.
forget darwin. be nice to people. and don't get so angry at people. because all of us are angry right now, so much so that it's getting quite hard for me to remember what all my friends are angry about. personally, i'm ready for positive change. if you don't like something, take action to improve things and constructively spread your message of benevolence. if your think corporate farms are bad, buy local and organic, and tell your friends about your decision. if you think sexist and racist comments are harmful, stop using them youself, and marvel at how quickly people detect and adopt your sentiment. if you think obesity is a problem, start eating right and exercising. hell, bring your friends along for a game of basketball and serve them veggies afterwords, maybe they'll learn something (thanks, Reuben). it's not that hard to change your mind-state, and though extension the world, for the better.
