I am trying to decide what it is that I shall do, hence all these questions. I know I cannot go back to where I came from, for any number of reasons, but I am not certain that I wish to remain here.

I do not know how much Angelica has told you of what brought me here, but-suffice it to say, I sometimes think that remaining on the Barge would, in an oblique way, be succumbing to a variety of the temptations that led me here to begin with.
