11. Genre - do you prefer certain genres of fic when you're writing? What kind do you tend to write most?
H/C, no question about it, but I can vary between gen and slash.
12. Have you ever attempted an "adaptation" fic of a favorite book or movie but set in a different fandom?
No, I don't really care for A/U stories. My characters usually stay in their own fandom.
13. Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?
It's difficult to split the two apart sometimes, isn't it? I try to stick with canon, at least in my gen stories, though I have given names and personalities to characters that were only mentioned in the series, like Murray's mom & dad.
Of course, writing slash fic, you can't help but be writing fanon.
14. Ratings - how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?
I'm not very good with rating my stories, since I'm writing for an adult audience that appreciates and understands slash. If sex is involved, what makes it change from R to NC-17, the specific acts that they are performing? Violence?
I've written plenty of slash that would be R or maybe NC-17, depending on the standards by which you judge it, and plenty of G rated stories as well, but when I sit down to write, it usually ends up as I thought it would.
