HE POOD. haha. it was normal. anyway.
hopefully this continues. :D
he LOVES this raw food I made.
I bought a whole young chicken this time, instead of chicken parts.
I didn't use all of it at once (I figure I can make two weeks meals on one chicken, if not more)
Ingredients:
1 chicken wing (bone and all)
2 chicken thighs (bone and all)
2 chicken drumsticks (1 with bone, one just with meat)
1/2 chicken ribcage (bone and all)
chicken breast meat
1 chicken neck (bone and all)
2 chicken gizzards
2 chicken kidneys (they're really small)
2 chicken livers (equaling 4 oz.)
2 oz. of beef liver
4 oz. of beef heart
2 whole eggs (with eggshells)
1/2 cup of canned squash (fiber!)
3 oz. of canned sardines (bone and all)
100 mg supplement of Vitamin B complex
600 mg supplement of Vitamin E
1000 mg supplement of Taurine
600 mg / 400 I.U. supplement of Calcium & Vitamin D
It has less beef liver than the other recipe - the benefit of buying a whole chicken, you get giblets, too. It also smells a lot nicer! haha. I think the beef liver has a very strong odor to it that not even my cat found appealing. I also decreased the amount of Vitamin B, which may contribute to a nicer smell -- it also has a strong odor.
It's funny - every Sunday I do my shopping for my cat to make his meals for the week (it is SO MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE than buying commercial!) -- the kid at the register (he was young and must have been new) actually made a face at the beef heart I was buying. I told him it was for my cat, but he shouldn't make faces because some people eat beef heart (especially where I am - for some reason, my supermarket sells "offals" and it must be because there's a market for them and I doubt everyone's buying them to feed to their animals...) So, I hope he'll learn better manners.
I am happily becoming less squeamish about working with raw meat. :)
Work today 10-6... today is my last week; our season ends on Saturday. I'm actually really looking forward to it, but don't tell my boss. ;) I like my job, I just really enjoy time off, too!
