I'll do a more detailed post when I'm able to think better. On Friday
writerdahling and myself headed up to Chichester for the aforementioned conference, which was posted about a couple of months ago in the SciFi Facebook group. Couldn't pass on that! It got even better when upon further investigation of the event I discovered that one of the speakers from the Tolkien festival where I met Gideon, was down to speak at the conference! It was really lovely to see her again. In addition, while I was around the reception desk (and getting in the way of the catering trolley) a bloke I recognised appeared. Not the Tolkien festival. Not larp. Folk festivals? A veteran IVFDFer, often there as a storyteller. Hmmm, must look through old IVFDF programmes to see, although we established that Sheffield, Exeter and Bristol were all mutual IVFDFs.
There were several sessions with parallel panels; all were wheelchair-accessible, which was wonderful (though the uni were a bit slow to open the indoor route to the lift on Saturday morning - sounds familiar...*cough*UniversityofExeter*cough*) so there was nothing I was unable to get to.
I'm now even more excited about starting my MA. The only downside to this weekend is that I now have a long list of books that I REALLY REALLY WANT TO GET. Oh heck...!
