I'm a Lady!

If you're not involved in the SCA, this post might not make much sense...

I was awarded my AOA last night at our Baronial meeting!! :-D I was also made part of the Order of the Silver Dolphin, which is an Aquaterran award for service. Evidently, someone thought I was doing good stuff when Cheryl and I merchantcratted a couple events. Huh....

The funny part is that they tried to present the awards to me at Honey War, which I did not attend. Cheryl was there, on crutches, and ended up going up to accept awards three times - twice for herself (she got her AOA too - YAY!!!), and once for me. When they called for my second award, the Crown Prince Uther shushed her down and went up to accept the award for me, himself. LOL... Evidently, he was quite an entertainer, proudly showing the scroll to the entire court and tearing up at the honor. I quite enjoyed hearing about it from several different parties later on. Our Baron Andreu, in particular, seemed quite happy to have had the Crown Prince kneeling at his feet and getting to call him Leyna. :-D

Update/Explanation: When you receive your Award of Arms (AOA), it's in recognition for work you've done within the SCA. With an AOA, you can be addressed as Lord or Lady, rather than m'lord or m'lady. You can also display your device on your belongings and can wear a metal band with scrollwork about your brow, rather than the unadorned band everyone else is allowed to wear.
