2500 words into a second story, which just happens to be in the same setting and using some of the same characters as the story I just finished. This one is going to be on the short side as well, meaning that it probably won't crack the 5k barrier.
The plan, as it stands right now, is to finish this piece and get at least a roughly edited version out to a few people to read over and get feedback from. After that, my goal is to write something completely unrelated to the current piece (which can best be described as sword & sorcery in the tradition of Lieber and Howard and definitely more of the former than the latter). The question of course is what genre to write in? Suggestions are welcome.
After that- I'm considering possibly drafting a novel outline, most likely using the afore mentioned s&s setting. Partly just as an exercise, mostly to see if the idea interests me enough to tackle it. I'll see how it goes.
For the record though, it has been a long time since I've written 2500 words of fiction in a week, and I would need to drastically step up my game if I'm going to be serious about this novel idea. Or trying to get a short story published this year.
