I was reading a lot of stuff on this issue on my lunch break today. I have to just spill my heart on this. I've termed myself Pro-Life and if I were to say any different I'm sure I'd get puzzling looks from almost everyone

A agree on the whole no-sex-before-marriage thing. This is kinda related: What's your opinion on using protection *after* you're married? (Purpose being to keep from having a baby until you're ready/able to support one?)
key here...my opinion....is its wrong...you put up a barrier (literally and emotionally) to your spouse...sex within a amrraiage is a complete gift of self...with contraception within a marriage, its a gift of self but not complete cause you aren't open to the fullness of what the gift can do.
I think if a married couple uses NFP to kind of help them plan when its better for them (for instance if right away they are still in a major financial crisis) i mean no one will ever be in a good place to afford a child...that stuff its expensive, but i mean extreme, or they are open to becoming pregnant but would like to wait a little, I think Natural Family Planning should be the way to go...I mean if you and your spouse are not ready for children ASAP cuase you have lots goin on or whatever I just think a natural way to plan that is better than putting up that barrier of contraception!
Natural Family PLanning, still leaves you open to the possibility of life, just gives you a little help in deciding if its best to wait a little while.

I would also take into consideration this fact: if your getting married, and weren't having sex before, the same still applies with contraception...it still isn't 100% effective so using a condom just cause your married and not ready to have a baby, you can still get pregnant...so you mine as well just go all out and have one...or just use NFP...its not completely simple but its still in my opinion the best option

nicca2007 kinda beat me to what I was gonna say. :P NFP is sometimes effective if a woman is very regular -- the kind of woman who can mark her calendar and predict her cycle for months ahead of time. If you're someone (say, like me) who has a "cycle" (I use quotes because it's comical to call it that...cycle generally involves something repeating...) which could be anywhere between 3 and 7 weeks and the time it falls in there is determined about as randomly as where a dart ends up on a board when someone who doesn't know how to play is shooting, NFP is useless. My hormones are allll crazy...I can't predict it if I try. The thing with condoms is they're only 60-80% effective. So if God really wants me to have a baby, I'm gonna have a baby anyway. :P But if God agrees with me and my spouse that we're not ready to handle a kid, we'd be able to wait until we could raise the child in the best environment possible.
