An update

Some things to update on.

1) Since I've started going back to the gym one month ago, I have lost 5.5 lbs! I'm excited about this, although I will be more excited once I get through the Zoloft weight (I gained 10 lbs on Zoloft in a month or so, so once I get lower than my pre-Zoloft weight, I'll feel like a million bucks).

2) I love Jesse's wife Michelle. She has a baby named Aden that is exactly 2 months younger than Alana. Michelle is so sweet. She's exactly the kind of person you want to be friends with. I'd be her friend even if we didn't have babies close in age! No, she doesn't know about this journal, I *try* not to write things to suck up to my readers.

3) I love Kristine. That's not new, but I love Kristine. We went out for coffee tonight. Every time I see her, I appreciate something different and unique about her. Tonight it's that you can talk about your problems with your husband and she's not like "OMG, my man is perfect, you guys are doomed." She's realistic about things and doesn't get all dramatic and start telling everyone else "OMG, Allen treats Catherine soooo bad... he gets IRRITABLE when he's hungry!"

4) I had sushi with Kim and Emily on St. Patrick's Day. We didn't get to talk as much as I'd have liked to, but it was conveyor belt sushi and you sit in a row so it's harder to talk. I do love my friends and praise God for them every single night.

Allen is going to give Kim personal training and dietetic advice soon. He's charging her simply a pair of glasses. his broke four years ago, so he's blind at night. She has a hook up at JC Penney Optical so it will hardly cost her anything. It's a win-win situation. Kimmy can be healthy, Allen can see.

5) Alana is nearly 9 months old. I can't believe it. She's a pro at her pseudo-crawl and has started to attempt pulling up to standing. She almost gets there. I'm so proud!

6) I went to Maeve's birthday party a few weeks ago and had a really good time. I love Deirdre. She's so easy-going. Her friends are also great people (they are old friends of mine, I just rarely talk to them). Andrea was there and I just love Andrea. Whenever I see her, she brightens my day. She's funny, but she's such a nice person.

It was nice to be there because for the last two years, I missed a lot of important baby-related events, and want my friends to know that that children are important to me. Oh, and it didn't hurt that she made the cutest cupcakes ever- and they were yummy.

7) We're getting accustomed to our life in Seattle. It's nice to be back but we're out of the habit of seeing our friends and family. It has taken an effort to get back into being social with people and has been quite rewarding. We'll just realize that we haven't called anyone in a few weeks and realize "crap, we're not in Selah any more, we can see these people!"

All in all it's been good to be back.

I think that summarizes the last month or so. Maybe I oughta update more?

Oh, yeah, and

8) My mom has a huge LEZZZIIIE crush on Kristine. Our conversations go like this:

Me: So yeah, went out for coffee with Kristine last night

Mom: Kristine? Gosh, she sure is beautiful.

Me: Yes, she is very pretty, and she's not one of those pretty people with nothing else going on, she's a great friend (attempts to change the subject). She's a legal secretary at Perkins (or some other random fact)

Mom: Wow, she's just so...gorgeous!

I think I'm going to start saying "do you LOVE HER mom?" or something, just to tease her ;D
