so, some of you have heard, but for those of you that haven't, i am now officially the University of Florida's newest Admissions Officer. the final word came through on friday, and i breathed a huge sigh of relief. the job had been offered to me las monday, but they had to do a background check, and let's just say that i've had some youthful ( Read more... )

well, as i learn about the exciting opportunities in the emerging counterfeit transcript trade, naturally i'll pass the knowledge on to those who can increase my own potential for enrichment. you can read Chinese, can't you?

hey baby, it's your party and you can cry if you want to. seriously though, i'll hold off on my festivities. we're doing that Wine and Cheese thing soon enough anyhow. heck, maybe i'll just get ripped at your party as celebration.

oh it's fine for you to get ripped at my party...but that ripping should be exclusive birthday ripping...the promotion ripping must be done at another time (mostly because i just like the idea of having separate celebrations for each event of any of our lives...if we lump them all together, we get less party time, and, like eddie murphy, i like to party all the time).

thanks. i didn't mention it for the express reason that i wanted to generate more LJ responses... actually, i just watned to toss off a lunch invite while i was thinking about it, and chat later.

the reality is just that i'm a fantastically lucky slacker. my boss is awesome, (and likely gave me a strong positive recommendation) i have very little supervision (which is to say, none) much of what this position used to entail has been rendered obselete (but not replaced with other tasks) but no on seems to have noticed, so I seem like I'm working really hard. i also have a good working relationship (through my unique position) with anyone of note in Admissions. and i have an unlikely confluence of factors in my background which made me perfect for a job which just happen to come open (after 4 years) when i was in a position (been here barely long enough) to take advantage of it. and i was charming and eloquent in the interview, and decked out in my totally awesome new 4-button black suit and hypnotizing red power tie.
