My extended weekend and thoughts that come with the new year
I asked off for Friday thinking I'd be partying on Thursday night for New Years Eve. I was expecting to drink a little....not too much mind you, but just enough to forget the last couple months for a while. Well, not much of my life turns out the way I want it to. I went over to Preston and Erin's all dressed up in my new skirt and boots to find out that about half the party left at 10ish taking Blake who was in charge of the fireworks with them. I knew then that I wouldn't get to see the fireworks that night. I had to drink one of those five hour energy things to stay awake in the first place. So I left the fizzling party around 11. I was very disappointed.....even cried about it which now that I think about it was kinda silly, but I was really hoping to have fun on New Years Eve at least. I went to sleep right before midnight 'cause I had no desire to even see midnight at that point.
Friday was spent sleeping a little late and hanging out in my pjs most of the day. Kristin was cooking luck dinner that night so I went over there for that. We ended up watching Run Lola Run and eating black eyed peas, homemade cornbread, cabbage, and corned beef. I just ate the first two.....I dislike cabbage and the corned beef was too chewy for my taste. It was a good time though. Ended up with just five of us after around 9 or so. We watched Stigmata after Run Lola Run. It was a good time even though pretty tame.
Saturday mom and I were gonna go get her Build-A-Bear then go to Petsmart. Before we did all that we ate lunch with Kristin, Jack, Andy, and Shawn Lowery at Aladdin's. It was pretty tasty. Mom didn't eat much 'cause she said she wasn't hungry. We headed our separate ways after paying the bill and saying we'd meet up later for bad movies. Mom got her a bunny at Build-A-Bear. We both got calendars at the calendar shop in Northpark. Then we headed to Petsmart so I could get cat food. Mom wanted to see if they had any Christmas stuff on clearance. We both ended up spending too much there, but that's ok. We got nifty stuff. That night I headed to Andy's with Kristin, Jack, and Billy. We started out playing some Tekken which was pretty fun. The bad movies started out funny with an encore of Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus and ended badly with Princess of Mars and DragonQuest. Both of those last movies were really slow. About halfway through Princess of Mars I was ready to turn it off and go home, but I didn't drive. We left around 12:30 I think....maybe a bit later. Kristin and I were discussing steampunk costume alternatives for the cons. I'm still thinking on mine....I think Kristin has a basic idea of what she wants to do.
I'm still thinking on what phone I want. I looked on the AT&T site to see the prices of the phones I'm thinking about. Most of them are pretty good prices with the discounts and such. I'd have to get a better texting plan or a multimedia package to get the mail in rebates though. But even without the rebates they're not horribly priced. I'm leaning toward the Motorola Karma, but I'm still thinking about it.
I need to open a savings account with some of my next paycheck. I've got to start saving for this years trips. I won't make it if I don't. I'm thinking after the initial $100 deposit to open it, I'll take $50 out of each check and put it in there. I'll probably put all of my tax refund in there too depending on what it is of course. Then I'll have to start seeing about buying pieces of costumes. I'm not thinking I'll be paying too much for any of them this year. Jessica Rabbit was a bit more than I expected her to be, but she'll be reused.
Tomorrow I will be starting back walking. I was hoping to take the Christmas tree down today so that I'd have room to put the treadmill back down, but that didn't happen. It'll just have to be crowded. Later on I hope to be doing some jogging. I want to get used to walking again first though. I even bought some exercise friendly shirts. I need to get some more sports bras though.
Also tomorrow I need to call the dentist. My cavities seem to be wanting to bother me. I need to get that fixed sooner rather than later. I've got to see if the dentist Hillary used to work for will take Delta Dental insurance. I want to ask him about the teeth options too.
Also I need to get my eyes checked. I'll do that later though.....teeth first, then eyes. My eyes haven't gotten too much worse that I can tell anyway.
Anyway, that's my ramblings for now. I think I might get bold here soon and call Mark sometime this week. We'll see how that works. I'm tired of being lonely.
