What a wonderful day. Zoe was over last night. We talked and I guess I learned something that made me feel just a little better about the situation at hand. Whether it pertains to people's feelings now remains to be seen, but at least I know I had something important at one point in time, even if I don't have it now. Anyway, we talked, I cried and then we went to sleep. But today-oh man, today! I'll have a full account of the day posted on thecounty soon, but we'll just say that it was wonderful and I loved it. Brownsville really is the place to be-Uniontown's gettin' some competition as to my future residence....but I guess, in the end, I'll end up here. It's my home. When I got back from B-ville, I took a walk downtown and just enjoyed the air and the sky and my town. I thought about the things that I've shared with so many people at the parking garage-some of the best times of my life, with the best people I've ever known-and I kind of knew then that it was all in my head. Nobody was violating my memories or who I am. I lost things, sure-but that was my fault and nobody else's. That happened because I was self-absorbed and concerned only with getting myself out of here. It's in the past now. I know to try to not be so self-centered now, maybe I can open my eyes and see when people actually care about me and understand that that's infinitely more important than leaving town to chase some halfhearted, self-serving dream. That's what I've learned, I suppose. And I had a very good day.
