The challenge of disagreement

I've been attending a small church run by some old friends of mine, and I enjoy being able to see them every week. More and more, I find that I disagree with the theological positions of this church, yet I still want to go there. Part of it is because of the people I like, but another part of it is that I find it far more intellectually ( Read more... )

I wouldn't be comfortable with it in a church, but I do understand it. There was a Bible study I once attended at work; I was known to say to my good friend M., "I need a fight. Let's go to study, today." *shakes head*

It does make sense. Questioning is good.
I never am offended when someone believes differently than I do.

If it's just an intellectual exercise, it's much more productive to bash heads in the political arena rather than the spiritual realm :)
