D teases me that I freeze EVERYTHING. I don't, just to get that cleared up. But going through the freezer I came across some pork that was just over a year old (dated: 5/20/09). Today is cheep turkey day. I mean really how can you pass up $0.99/lb turkey? My fridge is cold, it's not quite thawed from Wednesday, so the turkey is currently sitting in a sink of cold water to finish thawing. Quarter is winding up and I'm finding I definitely need my weekends. Saturday is cycling. Sunday needs a theme. I cut bread baking short last time due to a desire not to turn the house into a sauna. I'm thinking elaborate confections of some flavor (my dietitian would be horrified). Or possibly work my way through some main dishes in a good cook ( Read more... )

I have a vast quantity of cooked white rice that needs to get eaten up. Suggestions for dishes?

Gym today (was still sick yesterday). 10 minutes stretch, 20 minutes cardio, routine 2009.02 x2 (~20 minutes)

In other news the bread did not turn out so well last night :P Need to remember to set the timer next time I don't want a dried out brick.

I generally bring bread + protein (cheese, PB, dead animal) and veggies for lunch. Last night I discovered to my horror that we had no more bread, we did however have a yam that was too small for dinner-y food.

Turns out that nuked yam stuffed with Gouda is mighty tasty. Will get more yam and Gouda this Saturday at Farmers Market.

I've been feeling a little better but not good enough to venture out which means... time to make the kitchen floor sticky ( Read more... )

If there was any doubt that I am truly a home body at heart it has been laid to rest this week. We are finally recovering from the 6 week long move/trip and have a fair bit of the unpacking done now. I'm not normally a food hoarder, I've had friends who hid bread behind their bed and can's in their sock draw and it's never really made sense to me. ( Read more... )
