...aaaand the last exam is in the can. I didn't do too badly at translating from Japanese to English, but flubbed four or five questions on writing kanji from memory. One of them I'd been looking at two nights ago. Dammit. On t'other hand, there were several kanji that I'd memorised and memorised and practiced writing from memory, so feeling pretty happy about that.
Also, is there a word for the horrifying moment when you realise you've forgotten how to write 'to read' halfway through the exam? I'd even used it in the first half. Pretty strange, that one, but I managed to find a previous example and rewrite it. And something I would not have been able to recall except phonetically appeared in one of the early questions, so I got to copy that, too. Heh.
It being a language exam, with no composition section, it didn't take too long (either you remember something or you don't, pretty much). I finished with about an hour and a half to spare, reread my answer booklet for copy errors (good thing, too!) and wandered out to destress with something flaky and gooey. And it had pink icing, with chocolate swirls on top. Whoa, I don't even know what to call that gooey thing. V. tasty though. ^__^
Going out to the movies tonight! Yayy!
academia,
