I had trouble getting to LJ last night, so this is what I would have written back then.

I got through the Evil Exam of 20C Chinese Lit. & Soc. I may not have written well, but I certainly wrote a lot - 29 pages. (I tend to double-space to give room for editing, and write large because my hand doesn't cramp so much, so it's not that impressive) and will hopefully never have to read the dreary stuff again.

I picked up a marked assignment for Jap. Lit. & Society - 18.5 out of 20, some very nice comments including approval of my essay structure, and a pretty sticker. Gotta love those lecturers who think like primary teachers - it really hit the spot. ^__^

Received a reference from the Jap. Language teacher, in Japanese which is a bit beyond me, but he explained that it says lots of good things etc. etc. (He still thinks I'm a hard-working girly-swot, go figure.) So yesterday was actually pretty good.

After the exam, in lieu of a cream doughnut (all the shops were out), I settled in with the black-and-white Mask of Fu Manchu which seemed the audio-visual equivalent. What can I say? The acting was a little wooden, hello derogatory stereotypes, I wanted to hurt the 'heroes' when they blithely smashed through an ancient and invaluable tomb and walked off with the shiny stuff, Little Miss Fu had a great deal of predatory charm, a few of the scenes had a certain amount of potential, especially the bit when a mind-controlled hero comes out of the rain and the heroine is all 'There's something off about him but I can't prove anything and it's scary and why are you going off with him???' Ah, and fanservice. All I'm saying is, if the hero is stripped half naked and strapped to a table to writhe artistically so the bad guys can give him one tiny injection in the arm, I want to know why they weren't ladelling oil over him while they were at it. Fanservice for girls, yayy!

One exam to go!
