So the steak dinner was scrumptious - went to Lone Star with a friend and there was a huge amount of meat and a lot of crispy potatoes that were fluffy inside and we finished off with dessert with pavlova and tasty icecream and kiwifruit.
Over the weekend, visited Sister and Sister's Daughter in Wellington. The child is now about seven kilos, remains cheerful, and is fond both of kicking (ow, by dose) and sicking up portions of her lunch on people. When you are visiting and your wardrobe is really quite limited this can be a bit of a trial. Also, she seems to consider sleep a bit of an optional extra until suddenly she's really tired, like right now, and can we please make all the noise and light and activity stop right now, please.
She's also a champ at smiling, and her meal consumption skills are A++. And we're teaching her Baby Sign! It's a bit early for her to sign back, still, but we're using signs for food and water and milk and all-done - and Aunty Cat, I made sure that was included in her repertoire, hah.

I attended the Hindenburg game and had fun - I was playing a gangster's moll who deliberately stirred up some trouble near the start, it got a bit too hot, and spent much of the game scheming simply to find a way off the airship before she got arrested or Al Capone worked out she was responsible for the loss of his ledgers. Success! I ran off with Biggles in Amelia Earhardt's plane. Possibly not the most triumphant of endings, but I think hooking up with a ruggedly handsome war-ace would have made her happy, at least for as long as she was capable of being happy. My favourite part was doing something horrible and then loudly complaining that people were being mean to me and I had no idea why... And gosh, that was a slinky dress.
And after we flew off there was an incredibly chaotic mess with aliens and more aliens and a mummy attaining godhood. Well, it seemed to make them happy.

Weather has turned wet and cold again, and I have a sore throat. Again.
