Because I'm crap at sending postcards...

Hello everyone! Craig and I are at an internet cafe in Hong Kong. The place is in the bowels of a nondescript building near Causeway Bay - but we don't mind that there are no windows, because internet access is only HK$13 per hour (AU$1.78, 0.82GBP, US$1.68). There are teenagers playing shoot-em-up games across the way, and both they and the games are making loud noises in Cantonese (at least I'm presuming it's Cantonese).

We had an uneventful flight over, and made it in last night. Hong Kong is 3 hours behind Sydney, so although it's only early afternoon, it feels closer to dinner time. This is good, though, because it was easy to get out of bed this morning (I am normally infamous for my sleeping in).

This morning, we took a double decker tram (I have never seen a double-decker tram!) and a cable car to "The Peak", the top of Mt. Victoria. Before I came over here, I read in a guidebook that Hong Kong is about 40% park, and I was surprised because I only knew about the massive skyscrapers. I now know that this is because Hong Kong is about 40% MOUNTAINS. Very pretty, though. It was quite misty and visibility wasn't the best, but apparently that's about standard for this time of year.

Plans for the next few days include going on a night boat ride (to check out the pretty city lights), eating lots of Yum Cha, and doing some shopping.

Not much else to report as yet. I'll keep you posted as long as the internet is cheap!
